Hi All

OK, I am now starting to panic over one of the questions on the NZIS 1015 form. I've done a trial run of filling out this form so many times and each time I skip over question A12 for a number of reasons! I am sending my application off by courier tomorrow, and although OH is checking with his contact in NZIS in wtgn for suggestions on what to put here, would really appreciate hearing back from someone who has actually filled in this part of the form!

The question asks "are you living together in a genuine and stable relationship" with two options, either yes or no. If you answer no, which is my answer, then you have to give a reason why! The reason is that because I live in Dublin and he lives in Wtgn, and that because neither of us are prepared to risk entering the others country illegally, we haven't had much of an opportunity to live together, apart from a couple of months!

We have a lot of documentation (listed here before) to prove our relationship and confirmation that I am going to be employed while in NZ, but I dont want to put something in that box that may mean they tell me to naff off before they have read all of the other facts!

Ok, maybe it's just the pre-submission jitters, but would appreciate any advice some of you may have with this, or experiences!

Thanks a million,

Dee

I have no experience of this situation or inside infor as to what is the right answer but my instinct would be to answer the question Yes* and then add your additional information at the *. My thought is that you may get someone who, as you say, sees the answer No and automatically discounts the application. If you put Yes* you are giving them the answer they are looking for and if you them give them all the additional information I wouldn't have thought there could be any come back with regard to you not being honest. Just a thought but many couples live apart for different periods of time due to work, I wouldn't expect them to put No as the answer.
As I said this is just MHO and not based on any facts fron NZIS. I hope it all works out for you.

Hi Dee,

I don't know the answer to your question, but noticed that you posted a while back so wanted to let you know that whilst you haven't had a response, people are looking and do care about your predicament.

When you submit, do they assign a case officer to you? If so, would that give you a chance to explain your situation more fully in detail?

Hope someone else can help more than me, but in any event good luck with your application and hope all goes well. :nice1

Thanks a million Debbie, your suggestion is spot on, and by saying no, we are risking the chance of the application being binned! We had thought of doing that, but at the same time, didnt want to appear to be dishonest in the application either!

Will let you know what is finally decided, and maybe some of you can hold my virtual hand with me, just to stop me from chewing it off while I anxiously wait for a decision!!

Slan,

Dee

Hope it all goes well for you. The waiting is such a killer. If only I lost weight through stress at least I could see a silver lining. As it is all I get is a thicker waist, more grey hairs and an ulsa(sp) pending. Keep your chin up love, choc is a good alternative to your finger nails.

Hi Debbie
Since my last post, you might be interested to hear that lady in NZIS in Wellington suggested that we put N/A in that box and refer to all the documents outlining our relationship, so we are going to do that!

So everything is ready to go by courier tomorrow, and as my waist is expanding from the stress too, I think I'll avoid the choccie and get some of that horrible stuff we used to get as kids to stop us biting out nails!! eeeeeuuuuuuwwwww

Be in touch soon!!

Thanks for your words of advice!!

Take care
