Hello-

I have a general question - I'm writing from California. We submitted our ITA on September 2nd with a job offer. Last week we recieved the generic letter that everyone gets. We tried to call NZIS (london) to ask about what to expect, but they wouldn't even let us talk to anyone - they said that we have to wait at least 4 weeks from when we lodged our application to be allowed to speak with anyone. Is that normal? I was just wondering if anyone out there has any idea as to when we might hear from anyone at NZIS and what the timeframe for PR might be with a job offer. I'm supposed to start my job in November, so I'm getting a little anxious.

Thanks,

Melanie

Melanie-

We're American and our application went through London too. If it will help, I can tell you our timeline- we:

- submitted ITA on April 29
- got an email asking us to call and set up the interview date on May 4
- had our interview May 19 and we're told we were "approved in principle" at the end of the call
- got email confirmation of status and a request to send passports

So that makes it twenty days from completed ITA to interview and the approval.

The caveats that I've heard from others are that it depends on the case officer, their workload at the moment and how complete your ITA is when you submit it. Ours for example, had an "unacceptable" copy of my husband's birth certificate so we had to send a second package. On the up side, I was told by our case officer that ITA with job offers were processed first. After the interview, I posted everything I could remember (see http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2914) which might help further on.

Hope this helps. I'm certainly not the only one who has gone through this but I'll be happy to answer any questions you have by PM or online.
