After going through nearly an entire rainforest printing out emails, multiple copies of the application form, 6 versions of the envelope holding it all together, and other reams of paper too numerous to mention, my application is currently winging its way to NZ House! Yaaaaaay!!!

I just wanted to thank all of you who gave me some very good advice and words of encouragement, particularly Debbie, Deborah and Steve! But I would like to single out 'Moorf' for a special word of thanks!

While searching through the archives for something an hour ago, I came across a post where you mentioned that the people in NZIS don't like getting paperwork in plastic folders, and how was my stuff organised? Yes, you guessed it, in plastic folders! Managed to rescue the envelope from the courier bag, and repack everything into not so pretty manilla folders - don't anyone tell me that they don't like those either!! Anyway, thank you 'Moorf'!!!

For anyone who is considering applying under the partnership category, and doesn't quite meet one of the requirements, then I think I can classify myself as an expert now - well I suppose I can if I get the visa, right?!

Can I get back to sleeping at night now do you think? At least for a couple of weeks!?!?

Will be in touch with any news....

Take care

Ah Dee, the cruelty of it all. But hey, at least your application is in and who knows maybe you will be saying goodbye to Phoenix Park and Cumisky's pub on the Navan Road.... aahhhh, happy childhood memories flooding back.

Good luck and top 'o' the mornin' Dee!

Steve in the capital of Ireland ;)

Much better sleep last night Debs, only worrying about climbing the hills in Wellington now and whether or not I'll be able to bring all of my shoes with me to NZ!! ;) Just checked and the package is enroute to NZ House at the moment with the lovely man from DHL!

As a matter of interest, does anyone know how long it takes for them to assign a case number and notify you by email so you can track progress of your application? On the other hand, might not be such a good idea for me to be able to do that - will be checking it every 2 mins!

Cheers

We heard within 24 hours of them receiving our pack! They have been really good so far and as my OH's company want him out there asap and flights are booked they have been completely unfazed by everything (including a lost passprt) and said don't worry everything will be through before you fly!

Hope things go smoothly for you!

Oh wow, that quickly?? So do you think that we'll be waiting the full 4-6 weeks before getting a decision, or are they processing stuff quicker than that? I don't have any flights booked but did say on the form would like the 12 months visa to start from 01/11/05 - that's if they give it to me!! But I am very nice, and I did use lovely manilla folders in my application, and on that basis alone they should let me in! ;)

Thanks,

Dee
