Hi everyone,

We've been looking at the forum for a week or so now, and are now in need of some advice..

I'm trying to fill in the EOI form online, but have got stuck very early on! Can anyone tell me what they mean by 'the name of the issuing authority' for my birth certificate? :? The help link didn't help much - says ' The government agency of the country or region that issued your document (e.g. passport or birth certificate). ' Nothing on my certificate seems to fit this description!

Thanks
Sophie

Hi Sophie, andwelcome aboard. I have not done an EOI yet, but strongly suspect that what they are asking for is the name of the local authority where your birth was registered. Someone here will put you straight 100% though, just wait a little while. There are plenty who have done EOI already.
Good luck.

Hi Terry and Sophie,

Its refering to the place that issued the certificate. if you were born in Bristol the address of the Bristol Registry Office should be inserted for example.

PS Wife is from Nailsea just down the road and I used to live there too many moons ago!

Thanks Karl & Tim,

That makes sense, I wasn't sure if they meant local authority or country! I thought filling in the EOI online was meant to be easy!

Wish me luck, I'm going to try to finish filling it in tomorrow. :eek

Cheers
Sophie
