Hi to everyone, we have just joined the forum tonight and wanted to say hello to everyone. We have submitted our EOI and been selected, so are waiting to hear if we get asked to apply, fingers crossed :uhoh On the positive side we have just had an offer on our house so hopefully that will go through quickly. We are hoping to be in New Zealand by Easter next year if all goes to plan.

I have seen a few posts on here about some seminars in Manchester so we are thinking of going to one, is anybody else attending the seminar in Manchester, or has anyone been to one? Just wondered if they are any help at all.

Better not go on too much and bore everyone, just another big hello to you all :clap

Hi there

welcome to the forum, loads of fantastic advice on here and wonderful friendly people.

We may be going to the manchester expo - not sure which day yet.

You ahven't put which area you are from, if you are around manchester why not come to the NW meet tomorrow at Wheatley park nr Wigan and meet a few people from the forum in person?

good luck with your application, keep us informed how it goes.

Hi (again) Helen and John. As Marcia says, you'll learn loads on here and also make some wonderful friends.

But first, tell us a bit about you. Where are you looking to go to in NZ, are you looking for any specific jobs, do you have kids (pauses for breath), any particular reason for emigrating.......?

Sorry, all puffed out now, I'll give you a chance to respond.

Seriously, welcome aboard, great to have you around :nice1.

Thanks for your replies, our first! We live in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, have been married for 9 years and have 3 children, aged 4, 5 and 8!

We have been reading the forum for a few weeks now and have picked up quite a bit of good advice. Our reasons for wanting to move to New Zealand are about the same as everyone else, better way of life, a better place to bring up the children and no deadly animals!!

We have loads of questions that we will be asking over the next few weeks, so many that you will probably get sick of reading them!

Thanks for the offer, but we unfortunately wont be able to meet tomorrow, but if you have another one we would love to hear about it.

We are hoping to attend the semiar on Thursday 20th October at the Moat House, Manchester Airport and also the Exp on Saturday 22nd in Manchester, hope to see some of you there.

Hi Helen and John

Welcome to ENZ. Don't worry about asking lots of questions, you will usually get the answers from someone on here. Also try searching the forum using the search engine (I generally find it throws up lots of completely useless info but occasionally your exact question will come up - most of its been covered at some time or other). It never ceases to amaze me what a diverse bunch of people we are on here - and what info can be drawn from the collective brains of the group :yes .

Welcome Helen & John

well all I can say is say goodbye to cleaning the house as this forum is soooooo addictive. Sorry you couldn't come tomorrow, we could do with some more 'newies' coming to the meets. It's a great way to make friends ready for when you make the move to NZ, and us oldies are nearly all there, in NZ that is.

anyway like everyone else said lots of friendly advice here so enjoy the show.
