My wife and I will be out for our 'reconnaissance' trip in Nov. and would like to spend a 1/2 day - full day on a sailing trip. If anyone has done this in either Auckland or Wellington, I would love to hear some recommendations.

Yes we did this, got off the plane at 6am, and was on a breakfast trip with the company below by 9am in Auckland Harbour. We were a little worried about what we'd have done if the plane was delayed but all went fine.
The people were of course really great and had loads to tell us.
