She can start school on or after the day she turns 5 Mike - not before.

Thanks for that. Sorry if I'm being thick, but does that mean she can start full school at the end of Feb 06, or she misses the forthcoming year and starts in Jan/Feb 07?

Kids in NZ can start attending school on their 5th birthday. It doesn't matter whether their birthday is at the beginning, middle or end of any term. So your daughter will start in Feb 06, if that's when her 5th birthday is. :)
