Hi again :raebanana

My first question is about the system itself for immigration.

I have done the points test and I only get 95 points because of lack of experience. I am only going to have 1 year of experience (as a teacher) due to just finishing my PGCE.

What I would like to know is, how exactly does the system work. If I go to New Zealand on a work visa ( 2 year as indicated by my agent), does this become a permit in new zealand for the 2 year period as soon as arrive?
If not is the order of gaining PR as follows?
1) Gain working holiday visa, apply for permit once I have work.
2) Work permit for 2 year period and then apply for PR (during this period).

This is my understanding of the sysytem is this correct?

Thank you so much for the replies, your replies should hopefully stop my head from hurting. :):)

soory I can't answer fully, We got PR straight away but I'll try my best. If you are under 30 you can go on a work holiday visa. I think.
If you get a job you could apply for PR straight away.
By the way are you using a migrant agent.................if so why you could save yourself loads of dosh and get all the answers you need on here.

Also this linkg might explain a few more things

Hi thanks for the response,
I will probably do the working visa myself, the only problem with it, is that it states this visa is for supplementing travel not for looking for permenant work whie in the country. I can't take the risk that I might not get a PR through this way. Does anyone know people who have done this?

Will have to wait for 2 years either wise, which I don't really want to do. :(

Sort of I think. My plan now is to apply for work from this end then hopefully get a work permit(agencies I have contacted seem to be positive). If not I will go out on a working holiday visa and do it that way. :)
