We were just wondering if it is usual to have relocation costs paid for by your employer. My wife and I are both nurses so is it possible to negiotate with a district health board?

Just asking before I phone them and make a fool of myself...lol

Anybody have any experience or tips?

its always worth asking but its not something that seems the norm here. I think in a country with so many incomers its reckoned to be their choice to come here. Now if you were headhunted and poached from another company then it might be different.

I know of a family who has recently moved here with relocation costs paid by the employer which include costs for air-fares, shipping the household stuff and one month temporary accommodation.

If you are a secondray school teacher , you get $4000 after teaching for 2 terms. i.e 2 lots of $2000
