Just a quick note to say we arrived in Kaiapoi on Tuesday - still finding our feet.

There seems to be no short term rental properties available which is a bit of a problem. People are fantastic - more to follow when I'm not paying internet by the minute!!

Thanks for all the good wishes. We have actually already bought a house and a car!!! I can't believe we have only been here since Tuesday :p

We are going to have to move round B&Bs until we can move in to the house but, if all goes well, we'll be moving in 21st October!

Helen - would love to meet for a beer sometime.

Welcome Nessie. Newport Pagnell was my old stomping ground too. I remember only too well those first few days on these shores. Buy a car, rent a house, activate your bank account etc etc. Halcyon days indeed. (!) Sincerely hope you come to love your new home country as much as I have.
