I'm so glad that this section was added because most of my questions seem to be the "how to" variety!

Anyhow, I'm debating the wisdom of buying/bringing a laptop in order to write covering letters and CVs. So I was wondering if there are places where you can rent time on a computer by the hour and have access to a printer. In the US, there is the fallback option of a Kinkos that many people use. I understand that internet cafes are quite common - are they set up for other services such as this or are there places that provide the service seperately? Any names would be helpful - I'm headed to Christchurch/Wellington depending on the opportunities.

Thanks!

Check out the library websites. They all have computers and access to the internet - $3.00 per hour, have photocopiers and access to word/excel etc.
This link is for the Christchurch Libraries

Hi Susan

We've just arrived in Welly and had a devil of a time connecting to wifi. I can't bore you with details as I am NOT the teckie one, but OH is and if he can't connect there is a problem.

However, this is me now finally replying via lappy and wifi, but there are internet cafes and the library too. Cheap enough and you can print off. OH hates those places and would never do anything other than check mails really, no on line banking or anything requiring security. But then he is in IT security and knows......

The libraries are more pleasant than the cafes. :D

Hope this helps a bit.
Deborah
