Andy has not handed in his notice, so we must get a move on now.
Must sort out a place to live in Christchurch (moving mid nov),
Agencies - potential jobs
flights. Choose which removal co to use, look at pensions money.
Start selling the stuff on ebay (know I should have done it before).
Not got all the finances sorted (sold 1 house not the other, may rent one out), but wing and a prayer, want to get there to find a school for Rhiannon so that she could start in the Autumn term with everyone.
Any advice gratefully appreciated.
Excited and scared to death.

Oooohhhhhhh so much to do so little time. You'd better get your scates on. A lot of removal co. are booked for a few weeks ahead. Have you got one in the sidelines waiting for the go ahead? Hurry if not. Flights, we were lucky to only book ours a few days before we left, no cheaper just the same price in fact. You can search on the net for a place to stay on arrival, or even better still, one of the forumites may point you in the direction of a place to stay. Make sure if you do rent the other house you have a contingency plan aswell. Get Andy to sort work ou too as you will need him around the house for the last few weeks to help sort EVERYTHING out.
Good luck!!!

If you are getting here in mid november, then you will not really have that much time to worry about a school for the kid, as summer school hols will be starting in mid-ish December! Then the next years school starts in late January.
Should give you heaps of time to sort out a school for the little one.
cheers, Stu.

Idea is to look at schools quickly so that we can see some kids in school, we know we have left it a bit late.
Have had the quotes sorted out roughly who to use and will contact them this week.
Gonna poke the viewer we had on the house (seems really intersted, wants to bring family round), but saying if not sold soon we are qetting quotes to rent it out, might make them make a quick offer.
Ahhhhh, saying goodbye will be the worst.

Handed my notice of resignation 2 days ago like Andy. We are off to Christchurch mid-November this year (wife, 4 kids and myself). Now, there is no going back and I have to land a job. The first month will be dedicated to decide where exactly in Christchurch we are going to settle and in which school to enroll our kids.

We are off at the same time as you and now I have handed in my notice too.
Just accepted an offer on our house, told them that they need to sort it by the end of the month. If not we agreed to rent it out and sell to them after 6 months. The woman really wants our house. pitty she doesn't have a bit more money.
