Hi there, it's me again, Omer, the only Israeli in the forum.
Anyway, I have a question about the conformation of skills by the NZIS.
My employer is giving me a hard time with this letter. He says he won't know what to say if the NZIS will call him.
I told him that since there isn't an ambassy in Israel he will only get an e-mail to confirm his letter.
Am I right or should I tell him that he will have to practice his English for the phone call from the NZIS?
I can't wait to submit the EOI and get a few dancing bananas...

Hi Omer,
Not sure if everyone's experience is/will be the same, but none of my employers have ever been contacted and we have our approval in principal. I only went back 10 years of work history and that covered 4 jobs - and I didn't include a letter from current employer as I didn't want them to know about NZ yet - and that didn't seem a problem to NZIS either.
All we've been waiting for is NZQA's verification of my qualifications and my case officer told me the level I needed for everything to go through. As we don't intend to leave before October 2006, I'm delaying paying the migrant levy until end November 2005.
My case officer conducted a telephone interview in June - knowing I'd only sent my stuff to NZQA in April (his words were that it could take up to 10 months :exit so why wait - we might as well get everything else out of the way and the rest should hopefully be a formality).
Can't guarantee yours will be the same - but hopefully it might (where's the fingers-crossed icon when you need it?) and then it's dancing bananas all the way. :raebanana :raebanana
Good Luck
Ria

Omer,
I confirm what Ria has said in her post. I have done exactly the same with regard to giving details of work experience for the last 10 yrs, plus included contact details of present employer. I have been granted PR in principle back in May as I haven't paid the migrant levy yet ( will do very, very, soon ).
None of my previous or present employers have been contacted.
Good Luck with your application :nice1
John
