Smee again.

We have just bought a great house in Orewa.

The house I'm in now in Stanmore Bay is probably worth a million plus. I rent through an agent for $438 a week. No water bills and gas/elec cost about $140 month (4 people). My lease finishes early December when I complete on our purchase. This is a great house, large garden, 2 huge seaview decks surrounded by glass panels....Wow is the word.

Great house 180' sea views over the bay - and I'm leaving, can you believe it ?

Well the things we do for our children hey.....I want my son close to school, so weazel goes the Pop....

If anyone wants a house worth $800 a week - yes $800 a week.....but can probably be continued at the same rate I got it for if the agent does not have to advertise it...modern great location, 360 square metres.....long term or short term....contact me quick this won't last long.

So if anyone wants a good deal contact me for pics, but in the meantime heres a little something of the house....

House from roadside (oh its on a private slip road)
Kitchen (supersize me...)
The view (to a kill)

This has got to be a perfect place for new arrivals just before Christmas....It has 2 Ultra enormous bathrooms (about the size of a single garage each - perhaps bigger with all mod cons etc

3 spare bedrooms large - 4mt x 4 mt (2) and 3x 4 (1)

Master bedroom with walk in robe and killer view from all wall window and private balcony

Upstairs lounge

Downstairs double lounge

Monster dining room - like a small double garage

Kitchen Largesse

10' Main Front Entrance door
Probably about 30' vaulted ceiling in entrance hall - enormous.

7 m x 7 mt double garage with auto doors

Laundry in garage built into huge cupboard.

Happy to send you pics or if demand is excessive, I'll post pics on a website with a link.

The only reason I'm not staying is because I have bought a great house in Orewa at $75k below GV -

Oh - I forgot to add - Whale Cove is a short walk to the bottom end of the garden, down the stairs built by Rodney Council for access to the sea - and fishing on the rocks galore...my boys have caught Snapper, Squid, Trevelly, Eels, Piper Fish, Pakahati(?), Kahwhai and seen small sharks, King Fish, Penguins, and even two enormous Rays (about 3 mt wingspan). You gotta see this to believe it. I know some folks are going to kick themselves for missing this one, but first come first served.

Very Happy little Brit Kiwi I am as well

Hope I can help someone out.

Oh and if you're looking to buy rather than rent in Orewa, I met some really nice folk heading back to the UK for med reasons (NHS beats ACC anyday) - brilliant house, B&T, 3 br/ 2 b/r modern, nice decks - a complete lifestyle in one home.. 6 months old (built by the large developer and property builder she works for) selling privately (no agents comm) a really good buy in Orewa - happy to give you details on request.

Be well

Bill

Hey KatandBob,

It is a lovely house - and its all over.

Have you looked at Whakatane ? its really great - probably the best kept secret in NZ....

Houses are half the price in Akl, the sea is right there like Orewa and its got a booming social life, great location and incredible atmosphere.

I've bought in Orewa and will stay here now - but if I hadn't I'd be off to Whaka's asap.

Trust me - its the best life in NZ :raebanana

Dear Avalon,

Thanks for asking but no - I'm just a simple Foriegn Currency speculator making enough money already. I simply bring a few interesting subjects to the table - or in this case the board - that may be of interest or assist a few people moving over here. After 9 years in the UK and being an avid reader of Martin Lewis's Money Saving Expert forum, I try and help by showing anything worthwhile I find, such as how to make Free phone calls to the UK USA and Canada and probably 50 other places from NZ, where to buy Sangoma sandals at $100 less than cost and letting my own bargain rental be snapped up by one of the readers - look above - now wasn't that a bargain....and just so the house I put up, which I recently saw and thought to be a really good house at a good price.

If you're ever in Orewa, look me up or PM me and I'll buy you coffee then you can see what I do yourself. Always happy to rise to the challenge ........if appropriate......so lets see.
