I couldn't find any threads regarding bringing in boats I mean dinghies really into NZ.
I am going with bishops and they use the moving company in NZ. they sent me a list of requirements to bring a boat but this seemed to apply to big boats i.e yachts etc. Bishops have packed in our mirror and optimist dinghy and I was wondering if anybody had any experience of what customs/maf required from them before they allowed them in. I was led to believe it was as bad as shipping a car in terms of paper work but can;t believe this for a pair of 10 ft dinghies.
Anybody know? or point me ina better direction?

So this is my first posting to this website and have no idea if it will be helpful but in the spirit of getting involved....

My partner and I have flown several times with a kayak...not a dinghy but in the small boat category. We flew with it as extra luggage and had no problems with customs. We also plan to bring 2 over in our container when we move in Jan. 06.

We will be moving to North Auckland as my parnter will be going back to school at AUT (the paramedic program). So we will be there at least two years and then maybe go south.

This Forum is very helpful but still trying to figure how to keep track of threads etc.
