During a visit to the post office today ,the lovely lady noted that i was British.
She then pointed out something called international christmas card special.
This is a little booklet of 10 stamps that allow you to send christmas cards ANYWHERE in the world for $1. BUT you must and can only send your cards between Saturday 15th of October and Friday 11th of November.

Right - I'm off to the P.O tomorrow. The Indain chappy who runs our local post office/4 square NEVER charges me the same postage twice in a row (for the same size letter/envelope. It should be interesting to see how I get on.

Thanks for the tip.

When is the last posting date from NZ to UK for cards.

May take the advice and send a lot before I go, but would be nice to send ones from NZ to family.

Christmas cards? International postage? Isn't that why the good Lord invented t'internet and e-mail??

Bah Humbug!!

:laugh

But on a more serious note, how do the veteran Brits, who have been there a while, find the concept of Christmas in Summer? I have to say, I'm hoping it isn't nearly as over-commercialised, brash and overdone as it is in the UK. Can anyone reassure me?

as to Hot Xmas's I remember my childhood ones in SA and the only thing I found strange was eating a huge cooked dinner with all the trimmings, soooo hard to stuff that type of food down you when its hot! oh and I can always remember getting a Crochet Poncho from my Nan, and running round in it sweltering!! :laugh :laugh (made me laugh when they came back in fashion last year!)
