Specifically piling, mainly augered. Anyone got info on demand? OH has done this for over 8 years and is a foreman running his own crew in the UK. Just wondered what the industry is like over there.

Civil –Piling Drill Operator – Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch
Our client is in need of someone to operate hydraulic drill rigs and crane mounted drill table rigs in the construction of piled foundations and to ensure the required standards of quality and safety are met and to optimise the performance plant.
Plant: Drill rigs: soilmec R516 (50tn) & Soilmec R9 (40tn)
Crawler cranes: Hitachi CXD400, 500, 550, 900.Kobelco HD 70 & 90tn
Attachments: Soilmec RTC & Calweld 250
The client is primarily involved in civil contracts with values up to $20 million. These contracts include pipeline construction, marine construction, residential subdivisions, demolitions, excavation work, bridges, dewatering, tank cleaning and all types of piling. They operate throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific.
The position is one of several reporting to the Piling Foreman or the Project Manager. The incumbent should have the appropriate certificates and/or experience to operate drilling equipment.
The principle functions of the Piling Operator is the successful operation of piling plant assigned to him/her to ensure the equipment is maintained and operated in the best possible manner to achieve the required production and quality, following the safety procedures.
Duties:
Carry out the role of Piling Operator functions including but not limited to:
a) Regular maintenance and inspection of the equipment.
b) Liaison with the Piling Foremen on matters such as program, sequencing, construction methods, safety and health, quality, etc.
c) Accurately pile to the given set out.
d) Follow the Health and Safety Plans.
e) As necessary assist with the physical work and safe industry practice.
f) Follow the Quality Assurance Plan appropriate to each project.
g) Maintain and promote communication at all times.
h) Regularly report to the assigned manager or leader, on progress, and issues such as potential hazards, difficulties and significant problems.
i) Maintain complete and accurate operators check sheets and operators log.
j) Attend Company meetings such as Safety and Health meetings, team briefings, staff training to maintain a high level of communication and co-ordination within the company.
k) Properly dispose of waste and act responsibly in terms of the environment and the Resource Management Act.
l) Actively promote a good image of the Company.
The incumbent is required to have a sound knowledge of civil construction, and foundation works. Two years minimum experience in the construction industry is preferred.
The position calls for a person who is reliable, dedicated and a skilled drill rig/crane operator.
Principal Accountabilities:
§ Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained and inspected and is fit for the assigned work.
§ Achieve performance targets by effective operation of plant.
§ Achieve the required standards of quality and safety.

A major contractor specialising in Multidiscipliary Infrastructure and Marina projects our client has an enviable reputation as a Construction expert.
Located on the south coast of New Caledonia approximately 60km southeast of the capital Noumea the project services one of the largest mining projects of it's kind in this area of the world.
Constructing two wharves largely off of floating plant Self Elevating Platform with a 250 t crane for pile installation. A precast crane barge with a 200t crane will install precast headstock onto the piles and also the precast deck panels.
Conditions will provide the following construction and engineering personnel with the opportunity to work off shore with excellent working and earning conditions, low tax rates and the chance to gain experience on a complex project in excess of $US80 million.
The project operates on a 5 week on 1 week off roster returning employees to their country of origin - ideally New Zealand or Australia
