Went out to Palmerston North airport today to meet Michelle & family. It was amazing watching them get off the plane .... I've never seen so many kids and so much hand luggage.

They all looked amazingly 'chippa' after such a long flight. Phils new boss and his wife were their to meet them too - it since turns out that they are friends of my sister in law and his (the boss) brother lives directly opposite us - small world eh?

We deposited them at the motel - armed them with a bag of goodies to see them through and then left them to it.

I think they're pretty pleased to be here - and it certainly was good to see them again.

Welcome to New Zealand folks !!!

yep, congrats on your arrival, Michelle and family,
Its so nice to see that there are some friendly faces to greet you when you finally get to NZ, I told my MIL last night about all the forum members, and she said that it made her feel a little better knowing that there is a network of support out there for us migrants, and that she felt a little easier knowing that you are there to offer your support
so :nice1 guys as last night was the first time she didnt have tears in her eyes while we talked of our plans! :clap

Had a text message this morning from Michelle. Said the kids were great on the flight - trying to work out what dose of 'medised' she gave them to achieve that result :p
Glad to hear they had a welcoming commitee, must be really nice to step off the plane and have some friendly faces there.
Looking forward to the updates soon!

I don't know whether this is normal or not. I have to say though, Phil's boss and his wife seem really nice people, they even brought along a basket of games and colouring books etc for the children.

I believe Helen Clark does arrival greetings as well, for the usual fee of course! :)

Michelle and family, welcome to NZ.
Rest well and take your time with the unpacking (don't get too stress up).

So that's where they have gone!!! Must have missed the location part somewhere.

Congratulations on making it a safe and reasonably stressfree arrival. Please give them our best wishes when you see them again.

Hi Michelle, Phil and family - glad to hear you made it in one piece. I look forward to hearing how the flight went with the kids. Bet it was nice to see Diny's smiling face at the airport (nothing worse than arriving somewhere with no-one to meet you!)

How's the jet-lag?
