Hi all you NW guys contemplating where to get your meds done at the DuKe Medical Centre Sheffield.

I rang today for the results and was informed that they dont post out reports???? - funny how when I paid for them they said "if you give it a week, you can ring for your blood tests, and they are normally posted by the next week"
Now they want - wait for it.....£22.32 to post them to me!!so out comes the cheque book again. - for the record the total weight is 300g which works out at either $4.25 for special delivery next day or £9.85 for before 9am! so they are adding the rest for "going to the post office"

So if you are not able to go back when they are ready to collect bare this in mind if choosing them. me not having a good afternoon!

When I went to pay the receptionist at our Doc's in Chichester, the dr had forgotten to tell me about the £25.00 posting fee, so the receptionist said 'don't worry about it' :clap :clap and we received it within 2 weeks.

lucky you - to get a nice receptionist - me thinks the nice ones were off sick!

Perhaps it is because you got such a super deal on the medical? Ridiculous prices for postage. Just another of life's rip-offs katandbob :(

Postage for the reports was never mentioned at Dr Million's surgery in Manchester, they just posted everything through after about a week. They said we would hear separately if there was any "bad news" and that we would hear that news before we received the reports, probably by phone.
Perhaps posatge was built into what we paid, which makes it even better value!!

went to Duk'es Med Centre yesterday and "nice" receptionist kindly offerd to post the results to us for the fee of £22 ish - when said we wanted to collect them in person she got a bit confused (not difficult) and after asking her colleague agreed we could after a week. Strange isn't it as the letter I had to confirm the apptm stated they would not post results on as they would not take responsibility for them going astray ! Anyway we all seeemd to pass okay - but imagine this - our youngest son was 5 on 17th and so of course was required to give a urine sample - very difficult task and needless to say I now own a jacket that must be dry cleaned or I'll have dogs following in the street. I’m with Gil on this one Dr Million in Manchester, more than worth a drive over the snake pass. Really nice man, everything sorted quickly and no extra charges.

We paid the fee given on the phone, had the x-rays and medicals done at the same time, it was a breeze. No question of additional postage charges.

typical! the sent them just signed for (about £4) and all 4 med certificates were in one envelope - which was ripped and was the one it was posted in!

opened it as you'd expect and thought ooops but I checked them - all ok so I will get them sorted next week and post it off :raebanana shame we will miss you tomorrow but hope to see you at the NW meet on 29th
