Hi,

I've been reading the forums for a few weeks now, and thought I'd better say Hi! :P

We (Milliemoo & Frodo) plan to move to the North Shore in Spring 06. We started the process on Sep 1st to take advantage of the low pass mark. Our status has now changed on the NZIS website to 'Successful' (YAY!) but we are still waiting for our 'Invitation' to arrive.

There's been some great posts lately, and we've been getting some great info .....keep up the good work everyone! :P

Hi Milliemoo - congratulations and good luck with the next stage when the invite arrives.

Abbie & John - we were selected on 15Sept too. From other threads I read yesterday I believe that those selected in on 1st Sept are starting to have their status changed to successful - so hopefully :hopeso shouldn't be too much longer for us now. Keep us posted on progress
:cheers :cheers

Hi Milliemoo,

Glad you made it over here. We're waiting for our status to change too - we were selected on 15th September (with my job offer) so keep checking the status every day. Hoping that it will change soon and we can get on with settling here properly!

Keep us posted (on both sites mind you! :yes ) of how it goes.

Jodie

Hi Jodie,

Yes, thought I'd take the plunge on this forum aswell, cause they seem like a friendly bunch! :P :P :P

There seems to be more chat across here also.

It's good that there's a big group of us all at the same stage, except you're cheating cause your already across there! :raebanana ....can you tell I'm jealous hohoho

I read somewhere that someone had a response from NZIS that there will defo be big delays for us lot with nay job offers cause they WILL be interviewing everyone without a job offer! eek I really thought they'd change the policy on that one hohum Another wee jolly down to the big smoke for Frodo & me.

Have you started your new job yet?

Milliemoo ;)

Yes I have started my job - it's just part time at the moment until they move into new offices at the beginning of November, but I've got a few projects on the go and some more planned to start next week so getting busier.

So when do you think they'll do the interviews? Are you going to come out here for a visit before coming for good? If you are, be sure to come and visit Wellington! :cheers

Hi,

I'm sure Stevenetwriter has something to say about the interview situation, but I haven't seen him post for a while.... prob to stressed selling his house
I think it's why the letters are taking so long to arrive, prob trying to decide what to say in them as far as time scales go.

Yup, we'll be out next year for a jolly, Nov. Will give you a shout if we're passing. We really want to spend a lot of time up North, checking out the burbs.

Hi Milliemoo

I work in Ediburgh aswell.

Lucky you getting to "sucessful" already. We were picked from the EOI pool on 18 August with 120 points and still have not been moved to the next stage.

I feel like a kid in gym class who is the last to be picked. I check the NZIS website almost hourly to see if it has changed yet.

We are hoping to move over sometime next year. Probably June or July, just in time for another winter.

Hi Guys!

Like a few of you I've been hanging around this site for a few weeks - the chat seems good so thought I'd join in.

We live on the West Coast of Scotland - but I'm orignially from the North East of England (Northumberland - Near a small town called Morpeth).

We were selected on 1st September and our status changed about three weeks later to EOI approved - but still waiting for the ITA pack to arrive. The post man must be beginning to think I'm stalking him as I'm always hanging around the other side of the letter box waiting for him.

Never liked waiting for anything! Not sure what to do - should we apply for police checks - make medical appointments or what?

About to put the house on the market - that will really stress me out - not the house sale - but keeping the bloomin place clean!

We've no definite timescale for going - except we'd like to be there for the Lions Tour next June / July. Not sure where we'd like to go - probably the North of the Shout Island or the South of the North Island - depending on where I can find a job. Have started making a few tenative approaches for things and will take some CV's to the expo in a couple of weeks - any advice on NZ CV's would be gratefully received.

I still can't believe how many people share my dream!

Look forward to meeting you all in NZ

Hey Milliemoo

Check out the Stuff.co.nz website - they have a CV maker (?) online. I think the main point is that it doesn't matter how wonderful you are, you have to SHOW how wonderful you have been, give examples etc. :? I thought it would be really difficult as I'm no good at blowing my own trumpet but needs must and I got through it ok. I sent it to my BIL in Auckland and he's says it's grand so I'm happy enough with that.
