Sorry if this has already been posted -

I've been looking at buying property in Wellington and have found this site very useful for land size info, RV/GV info, and rates info, plus there is an aerial view picture of each property:

http://www.wellington.govt.nz/services/rates/search/search.html

It's made me think twice before asking my family to visit some places ;) . For example you can tell whether the property is on cross-leased land, and you can see how the house is situated on the plot & in relation to neighbours beside & behind you (and sometimes also has things like proposed roads that the council has on its plans). It definitely added somewhat to the 'rosey' pictures on the real estate websites!

Hope it helps someone.

You may also find these interesting:
Quotable value
https://www.qv.co.nz/onlinereports/default.aspx?branding=homesell
Some free reprts, some you pay for. Gives demographic information on different areas. Also has maps.

Terranet

Has better maps.

These are sites to use mainly when you have found a property and are thinking of making an offer, especially as some of the functions they provide are not free, but its worth a look.
