Is it worth signing up for the Singapore rewards programme? Has anybody ever redeemed their miles, or is it one of those, where you collect for years and then get £5, (or should that be $5?), off a heavily restricted flight? If I pay for 4 flights (us and kids), do all the miles get credited, or just my flight?

Also is if it is worth it, should I sign up now? We'll be flying out in January, and booking as soon as the house has exchanged (hopefully in the next 2 weeks).

And I saw reference on another thread to something called 'Star Alliance' (I think), does this mean we could use the card on internal Air NZ flights as well?

It does seem, that if we're paying to fly all that way, we should at least get a free flight to Fiji out of it!

If you do join I don't think that you would get enough for a flight to Fiji as a by-product of a one-way fare to NZ.

My in-laws flew out for a holiday a couple of years ago business class with Singapore and ended up earning just enough with that fare to get a return trip (with British Midland) to a short-haul european destination (I think they went to Italy).
