Yep just in case some folk are wondering have they sold or haven't they, well the answer is yes and we are now on countdown. Sorry for leaving this thread so late to us departing but, since our last attempt a few months ago we didn't want to tempt fate. I do realise things can go pear shaped at the last moment, but fingers crossed our buyer has been keeping his end of the deal so far. There has been a slight hiccup regarding the search(he hadn't paid his fee) but we have been in contact with his mortgage broker and our solicitor and things are back on track. We hope to exchange on either Thursday or Friday and have completion on the 31st Oct.
Shippers are arriving on thursday, and flights are booked for Wed 2nd Nov.

Have been out today for a bit of a spending spree, seeing there ain't no mortgage to pay this month:nice1 Got a busy week ahead, what with saying goodbye to friends and still having certain items to clean before the shippers arrive. We'll get there, and hope that by Wednesday we will be in chillout mode for at least a day or two before we start saying our goodbyes to family.

Our plans are simple when we arrive. Staying with our friends who live in Cambridge and who made this move in April, they'll be picking us up at Auckland airport, along with Diny flying up from Palmy, she just wants to see our faces after we have come through ( She is killing two birds as they say as Mark is due in on the same day anyway ) just looking forward to seeing their faces again and our friends. After our initial meet up we are heading down to Cambridge, where we will spend the weekend, and then up to Auckland for a meet up with the new boss on the Monday. We are also taking a trip across to Kawerau to see Elaine's uncle (has lived in NZ for 50yrs) then back down to our friends for the rest of the week, and then Diny and Mark are coming up from Palmy and taking us down to there gaff and then the holiday mode will kick in. Spending a good few weeks having a ball and making sure that the area's we are looking to settle in are appropiate to our needs. No decisions have been made regarding our housing situation as it comes down to what the company is prepared to offer me in destination, but i'm sure we can deal with that a little further down the line. Just need to chill to begin with, as the last few months has taken it out of us.

So its finally happening to us after 18 months of trying and to be honest it feels quite surreal. I know our emotions are going to take over, over the next few days, and when we eventually start living the dream. But hey this is what its all been about i suppose.

So over the next few days we are hoping that everything marry's up and we can be sitting on that plane come the 2nd knowing that the stress has finally finished here, but know full well that there are going to be tough times ahead in the future for us too. We'll cross those when we reach them.

If any of the NW crew read this we'll see you on Saturday at the meet to say our "see ya later" (don't really like saying goodbye as it sounds too final).

Like I told you last night folks, it's YOUR turn now !!! All the UK stresses are now coming to a close, and yes - a few new NZ ones will be waiting for you, but it's parr for the course, and somewhow they seem alot easier to work through.

The last few months have been particularly difficult for you for a number of reasons, it just seems to have made you more determined. I know the last minute 'wobbles' are now kicking in but don't worry, it's a normal part of the immigration process, you'd be strange if you didn't have them. Enjoy your last few days in the UK, before you know it you'll be on that plane. By the way - I'm really looking forward to my day out in Auckland !!!!!!

The arrangements for your visit are well under way, the BBQ is getting sorted, the beach house is booked, the surf casters are up and running and Elaine - the wine is chillin'.

So looking forward to seeing you all again. It's been a long time coming !!!! Enjoy yourselves, offer plenty of support to each other and revel in the fact that your turn HAS come.

See you soon.

Just like to add our good wishes to others here - we'll also say them in person on Saturday.

We have only known you all for a few months but know what difficulties you have had to face, not only with the sale of the house, but other personal ones, and it just goes to prove that things do come to those that wait. :nice1

You deserve it, enjoy the last few days they will fly by.

See you sat!

Lots of love

Marcia, Kev, Ayrton, Mika, and Emerson

PS Don't stop coming on the forum - you still have loads of valuable advice to give to the rest of us yet! ;)

After this week and our completion you have all my best wishes, and my advice is to be constantly in contact with your solicitors, so that if there are any problems you can help resolve them ASAP (preferably before the end of the working day!) I was on the phone constantly in the last week of our completion and had to sort out getting paperwork sent out and resigned because the solicitors LOST!! it durrrrrr! so ALL MY FINGERS crossed for you guys....roll on November

Good luck you guys. I am soooo pleased to hear your news after all it's taken to get there. Sounds like you've got a fabo holiday planned before starting the 9-5 stuff - enjoy and relax, you deserve it! Hopefully we'll be not too far behind you (but I'm not holding my breath - we've actually got as far as threatening to pull out of our house sale as it's taking a ridiculous amount of time at the moment).

Good luck and happy travels

Brilliant news Kim, good for you. I was getting a tad concerned that you guys were possibly going to get cold feet after all the waiting around. PHEW!! Good things come to those that wait.
I see you were brave enough to book flights before exchange of contracts. I WISH I could bring myself to do the same, but really dont want to tempt fate. Have you got the facility to change flight dates, in case of delays?

Kim, Elaine, Nicola & Hayley - am over the moon for you guys!! OK, we've said your time would come when things went pearshaped earlier in the year, but you guys are determined and have hung in there stronger than ever as a family unit. Some BIG HUGS coming your way on Saturday. As you said, no 'goodbye's' though, just see you laters. Amongst all the stresses, that I can only imagine, try to enjoy the final few weeks in Blighty. See you soon.
