Hi gang-

We're getting a bit impatient now as we wait to hear on our PR status after our interview on 3 October. Wife had the interview as she's the primary applicant. We've seen many of you from the UK(we're in the states) seem to hear rather quickly after your interviews. We're going on 3 weeks now and still no word. Sent a quick email to say thanks for the interview, recap a couple of items and "hey, remember us?" in a very polite way of course, only to get one of those out of office auto reply messages saying they were out until the 18th.

So, did any of you have such a wait after the interview? As I'm sure many can relate, we're in that planning phase of setting up dates, feeling the urgency to book flights, determining when to see family before we go, organize the cats for transport....

cheers and glad to be posting after reading such great stuff these past few weeks! thanks for your input.

Hi Greencoast

Did the interviewing officer say how long you would have to wait? I think in the Uk everyone normally hears in the following 2-3 weeks max. Often sooner.

The waiting period is horrid isn't it? Have you tried calling or is it the premium rate number too?

I share the though of your frustration, maybe fire off another email tomorrow, see if that gets a response. Good luck and let us know when you hear something.

I can see how annoying it must be, but I think the delay probably comes from the fact that your CO has been on holiday. If he/she has only been back since the 18th, then they're probably catching up with all their paperwork etc. I agree with Deborah that you should probably send an email politely asking when you are going to hear. We sent an email to gee them up and they phoned back straightaway. They must appreciate that you are deparate to hear!

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Hi there-

Thanks for your feedback. The officer did say 2 weeks or so but you know, when you're waiting it's easy to take that to mean 14 days exactly! I'm sure she's just catching up with the paperwork, etc. We spoke with the marketing rep in Portland, OR who told us he'd received word that they are completely swamped in the London office so it stands to reason that it's taking a bit of time.

Not that I'm necessarily glad to hear that others had to wait awhile between interview and response but I must say I'm glad we're not the only ones!

We'll wait until tomorrow or Tuesday and then perhaps check again.

Patience is a virtue when dealing with NZIS ,greencoast! We very lucky because we heard within 3 days of the interview.
Good luck, we're sure you will be o.k.

We're from the US and we heard six days after our interview. In our case, it seemed like it took forever for the interview to be scheduled but once it was things moved pretty fast. Overall, I think it's more a function of NZIS scheduling/workload issues than anything else. Good luck. Hope you hear soon.

have any of you thought that they will be a bit short staffed at the minute?

We actually met our case worker at the Manchester Expo! :nice1

the exhibitioners were saying that the drive from London to Manchester was an eyeopener! apparently you hardly see anyone on the roads when traveling long distances in NZ - they were amazed at the bottle necks! :laugh

they will obviously be back in Londinium next week, seeing that the expo was open today as well, so I guess you may get some feedback this week??

best of luck anyway - I have just been sorting ITA out this afternoon for posting next week!
