Well for any of you who haven,t put an EOI in yet, I put mine in last week with 140 points and it was selected from the pool today  . I was gonna wait until i got my licence (as electrician) so i could claim points for my qualifications and submit it with 200 points, but looks like there's no need.

Now they say they will do preliminary checks before sending my ITA, anyone know what these are and how long they take?

This emigrating thing is getting a bit serious now- even sold our dog this week :(

Yeah !!!!!!!!!!!Good news. :clap :clap

On reflection I think our paperwork for the ITA came through about 6-8 weeks after our EOI was selected.

Start preparing now though book meds, get all certificates etc makes it easier than running round like a headless chicken when the ITA comes in.

Thanks chaps,

I know its only the very first hurdle but still it feels good. Do i have to wait for them to send me the info or can i download medical and police forms etc and is there a site listing exactly what forms i need?

I think it was about 2 months for us. The information should appear at the bottom of this post.

BTW, congratulations. EOI approval is the first but important step :cheers

Contact local plod and they'll point you in the right direction as far as downloading forms. The medic forms are available on the NZIS webiste IIRC.

Wow thanks again guys- :nice1 how come all the good info comes thru u lot when all i can find on the NZIS sites are links to dead ends?!

Sorry but another silly question here - i have found the medical forms and info on police cert etc and want to get things moving so i can turn round my ITA quickly, as a skilled migrant application does my wife and family need a medical form each, or just me? Same question re police form too?

Yep you all need the lot. :D Police forms are needed over a certain age. Some one with teenagers here will know.

You need a police form for anyone over 17 I think and all persons needing the check have to attend the police station with their own ID. (found this out when I went in to do mine and OH's).

Everyone needs a medical form but only x-ray needed if over 11 years old.

Not sure about having to attend the police station, seems that might vary from station to station (and maybe PC to PC). Gil took my documents down to the Station and all went OK, but when she took our eldest daughter's documents down they said she had to be there as well!

Nothing like a bit of consistency by local plod!:D

Hi guys...first time posting on the forum! :laugh

We have just submitted our ITA last week & are awaiting with baited breath! it's sooooo nerve jangling!

We completed the Police Check forms for the PNC Check & posted to the Metropolitan Police in London together with the £10 charge each...we had to include some identity evidence along with the form...i sent my medical card & OH sent driving licence. Although sent together mine came back first after about 3 1/2weeks OH's took just over four weeks, not really sure why!?!o

good luck to everyone & hope to chat with you soon on the forum

Hi

God reading these posts has brought back some memories we've only been here since June 13th but I can remember very distinctly the day we were picked out of the pool - we had a day at Chessington and it was absolutley packed and did nothing to deter us !!
It really does seem impossible that we are now here in our own home and all that rushing around for meds ect seems a lifetime ago.
Good luck everyone that is just starting out on this journey - you will get here!!

hey lisa! :D

thanks for your words of encouragement to all us newbies...we really need them at the moment! sooo nervous waiting to hear...i'm driving simon (OH) mad!!

where are you based in NZ? & how have you enjoyed your first months?

We are hoping to make the big move in Feb06...seems such a pipe dream! Simon lived & worked in NZ for a year in 2002 (in Taupo) and we went out for 8 weeks earlier this year...can't believe how beautiful it is.

oh well, enough dreaming...back to the good old british weather. it's been chucking it down for days now & 'it's grim up north'! :laugh

funny, I down loaded the forms from police website, went in to the local plod shop, paid £40 and just showed mine and sons passport.....out in around 10 mins, and the form was sent to us in 10 days.

and yep you all need individual med forms and x-rays over 11yrs, bloods too

Bit worried by that comment? I get 130 points with my electrical qualifications listed for points, but have no license or similar yet? Surely at the EOI stage i can submit it with qualifications listed?

Argghh
