Just read thru someone's post about applying to the Wellington office for visas - where they said that they can give you the visa that same day.

I was wondering, if hubby is in Auckland (where the visa takes 2 weeks - supposedly because it has to be sent to Wellington), can he fly down to Wellington to do his application? Is there some restriction on where you can file your application (same town as your adress or whatever)?

Just thought I'd clarify - it seems that all the applications are sent to Wellington anyway, thus going there would be preferable to submitting in Auckland and waiting for them to send it to Wellington and back

Don't know if it would make much diference to be honest Lizelle - we took our applications (pretty straight forward - job on POL with all the info requested) in to the Welly office 2 weeks ago this Friday, and we're still waiting for an answer, despite chasing it every day this week!

The rest of the stuff we will sort out later, but the sooner the workvisa comes, the sooner hubby can start earning his keep :mrgreen:

Yes - this was just for a work visa. Our PR is going through at the same time but wanted the work visaa in the meantime.
