Now starting to look at what to take and what to leave behind. I seem to recall reading somewhere that there are potential problems taking certain wood products into NZ, and I vaguely recall this mentioning cane - unfortunately I can't find the info again. Can anyone advise? We have a fairly new wicker and cane suit that I would like to take. Probably a stupid question but are there likely to be any problems with stuff like that, or is it generally untreated wood?

MAF do get iffy about cane and wicker, try this thread http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-574.html
I think from memory you have to declare it and if MAF want to look at it they will.
I'm waiting for them to pick on my Llyod Loom laundry basket thats 80 years old and painted. The shippers have already pointed it out.

The furniture is indoor stuff and fully varnished - based on that thread, I reckon I'll take a chance because it's less than a year old and very comfy :D
I think you've just confirmed that the African carved death mask my OH likes so much will have to go on the car boot though! :laugh
