Michelle rang me this morning had a lovely long chat for an HOUR (apparently the phone people in NZ had a special on this weekend, talk as long as you like, as many calls as you like, to people in USA/Uk will cost maximum of $10)
Well she told me I could put an update on for her so I'll give you a few details, I'm sure she will go into it more when her stuff arrives.
At the moment they are living in a rental, nice location, but needed a damn good clean. They have seen a house they like and are seeing the solicitor tomorrow to go into it further.
They've got a car now, thanks to the help of the AA man who came to them when their hire vehicle broke down, he fixed it, went away and rang them later to say he'd found them a vehicle to buy, Michelle was astonished couldn't believe the AA man had been car searching for them! in fact she says everyone is so friendly and helpful, it's wonderful.
Their container is due around about the 12th Nov and they are hoping that by the time it's ready to be delivered to them they will be in the house they are planning to buy.
Couple of pointers she mentioned. If you have kids make sure you put a fireguard in the container, they decided to leave theirs behind even though there was room, BIG MISTAKE, they haven't been able to get one, ended up using a borrowed wooden one?????? (almost as good as a chocolate one!)
The other thing Michelle mentioned which made me laugh, a tip for anyone with young children -
DON'T STOCK UP AND PACK IN YOUR SUITCASE AS AN 'EMERGENCY - MUST HAVE IMMEDIATELY ITEM' - PLUG SOCKET COVERS FROM THE UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Said she was having a real dumb blonde moment there! :laugh
She says the kids have all settled well, not got them into school/nursery yet, waiting to see which area they actually buy in.
Likes the 'warehouse' has got some bargains from there.
So they seem to be settling well, says she may still be in holiday mode at the moment, Phil has only done one day at work (started Fri)
Michelle can't wait to get back online, says she feels like her right arm has been cut off. She hopes to be back on the forum by the end of Nov(ish)
Says hi to everyone!
