Just a quick "check in" note ...missed you guys! It’s been crazy around here, but things are going well.

We just wanted to let you know that we have been "Approved in Principal" by the NZIS! Woo hoo! :raebanana

We've sent off our fees and passports and once we get them back they should have a Permanent Residence Visa inside and "that will be that" as they say! It will be almost exactly a year since we started our journey…seems like ten! :laugh But it’s been worth every nail biting, teeth gnashing, hand wringing minute. :yes

Funny, we were notified on our wedding anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better anniversary present. Thank you NZIS! :nice1 Needless to say, there was even more to celebrate...a good excuse to consume more Kiwi Wine and chocolate! :laugh

The people on this forum are the best...through all of the up's, down's and around's we knew we were/are in this together. Can't say how many times we were ready to give up, but your positive words, thoughts and prayers kept us going...especially during those late nights in front of the glowing screen. :typing

Did you not send your passports at the same time?
I had to phone the our case officer because the letter that came before after the ITA had arrived and returned . (this letter was telling us that out ITA was on the way?) some DOB were wrong. Anyway she said that she was waiting for a email to return re. medication prices ,and then she said she would be requesting out passports. I said that they had everything already . She said great won't be long then.
Is the "approved in principle "message for those who need to send in passports?

Hi, Rich,

Wonderful as always to see your posts again!! How exciting that you've been approved, and you're on the downhill coast of this mountain they call "Immigration"!! Goodness knows you deserve it after all your hard work. You may have gotten much from the forum, but you've given back more than you got, of that I'm certain!

Sounds like you guys are settling in well and NZ is becoming home very fast. Would love an update of your thoughts, feelings and impressions as your time allows -- understanding that your time is well occupied at the moment!! We've missed you, too.

I'm still trying to get righted after a massive and unheralded hard drive failure on my laptop.. have gotten the new hard drive, installed it and am now working to restore all my familiar programs, etc. What a headache!! Mirror hard drive for me from now on. At the moment, I'm betwixt and between, using Steve's computer for substantive tasks while working on reconstruction, so not many posts from me at the moment.

Anyway, seeing your nick signed to a post always brings a smile to my face, so thank you so much for giving us a quickie update and we'll look forward to more!!
