I dont recall hearing mention of that good old tradition of Car boot sales anywhere when talking of New Zealand. Do you have such a thing going on, or is it a case of having far better things to do with your weekends?
Just considering our options for de-cluttering.

They have "garage" Sales - usually on saturdays. They advertise in the papers and put signs up around the area. Then you trawl everyones garage sale looking for whatever you want. There was one down our street last wekeend and the amount of people who turned up, with trailers, vans etc who were obviously going to more than 1.! At least then if it is raining you are inside!! :D

I feel sure that given the current craze on UK tv for daytime shows about bootsales/c*** in the attic etc. , that there must be a pom somewhere in NZ who has started to try and convert the natives. :roll
It could be a nice little earner. :D

Garage sales seem popular.

Interesting e-bay is so big over here, they have their own version called trade me, which is huge and a good way of selling (or buying) good 2nd stuff.

Kiwi's do tend to stick to Trademe, op shops and garage sales (Ebay is a non-starter) - but I believe a British woman on the North Island started up a car boot sale every weekend (or something like that), seems it took off BIG time.. well, it would, wouldn't it.

So, who's got a few acres that they can lend us on a Saturday, a burger van, a kids bouncy castle and a mobile cafe? :D
