Not sure if this has happened to anyone else but thought I'd mention it in case anyone is going through the highs and lows of the new medical tests.

Me & OH have experienced difficulties in getting accurate results on blood tests which has delayed our ITA return a little. Anomolies have shown up from panel Doctors tests only for them to be disproved when refered back to our NHS doctors. It may be that we have been unlucky and it is a local issue. But if anyone else has experienced a really unusal result as a result of their first blood test try not to get dispondent (as we did) and get retested. Just a personal experience but I don't know if this has happened to others as aresult of the new process brought in a couple of months ago.

Good luck to all!!

Jo Lois, you don't say where you post from. Can you say where you had the tests done...and after geeting the NHS test, do you then have to go back to the panel doctor for a further test? And do you pay extra?

(Our meds should have been today but have been put back until 24 November. That, and not getting any interest in the house at the moment is making January seem a long time off....or far too close, whichever way you look at it)

we had tests done in Plymouth, and we will have to pay for panel Docs retests (when we have them) - we didn't pay for the first retest as they put it down to 'their testing error'. We were getting scared too re: timings as any NHS further referals for investigation would've taken 10 weeks, or, we were looking at going private to try and meet the 4 month deadline for ITA.
I'm sure we were just unlucky - so please don't get too concerned.
Also, advice from NZ immigration was to still send ITA back before deadline with covering letters to explain what was happening from Drs to show that we were sorting things out re: medicals.

(if it makes you feel any better - we're way off on the house issue!!)
Is it right that if successful at PR we have 12 months to make the move?
I hope so!!

Good luck on that. As for the house issue, you have 12 months from the time you get your visa in your passport, but THE MIGRANT LEVY has 6 months from date of issue of PR to be paid, so in all you can eke it out to 18 months like we are, just in case.
