Hi Forum,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. My EOI has been selected on 11/9/2005. Now they say that they'll do some preliminary checks. I just want to know that how they do it normally? Anybody with the similar experience before? Please reply. Thank you.

Welcome, it' a mad ride you have joined, dispite the long waits, large amounts of money involved and the stress try and enjoy it for the adventure it is. When you loose your way the forum is always a great source of help and support.
RE your question- I can only state from a UK point of view, (you haven't said where your from) but NZIS usually spend some time checking that you qualify for the points you claim based on the info you have provided. You will have to provide more detailed info with your ITA. The time you have to wait for that to arrive will depend on where you are.
Good luck with it all. There are loads of links on here to guild you through the paper work but ask if you need help.

Congratulations!. We had that check thingy when ours was selected on oct 26th, but the ITA came less than a week later. I think they just check you have filled in the EOI right not actually check out any info. The ITA when you get it is basicly the EOI in paper form with your answers already typed in and a declaration to sign and amendments section for anything that has changed since your EOI went in. Its compiling the ancillery stuff like medicals and job contracts that will cause you headaches- but keep telling yourself its worth it!! :nice1

Hi Debbie&Carlos,
Thank you for the post. I'm based in Dubai, UAE. I'm an IT professional. I hope I'll be in-touch with this forum and will post my experiences with NZIS and I'll also get knowledge from all of you. My EOI has been selected and I think there're still many bridges, I've to cross.

Our EOI was selected on Oct. 26th... Still no answer. Just a letter that it had been selected. That letter also said that we would be contacted when an officer had been assigned. Today: still nothing :wah

And I so want to go to NZ. I feel homesick :(

Maybe they just want to check it very thoroughly so the rest of proces can go very quick...? :clap

Hello mjehanzeb

Welcome to the forum. I think the wait is fairly usual. After our EOI was selected we waited nearly 2 months for our ITA to appear.

Are you dealing with NZIS in London? Do you have a job offer?

My ITA was selected on july 3rd. I have not heard anything for 2months. On september 3rd, I got an e-mail from case officer stating that he/she is in the process of checking some of the information regarding my registration. In the e-mail he/she asked me if I could clarify some information regarding registration and I immediately e-mailed him/her back with clarification. Case officer then said everything is o.k and sent me an ITA on september 14th.
I turned in my ITA on November 7th
