Has anyone had experience with house clearance firms in the UK? I've sold my UK flat and but it's fully furnished (including dishwasher, washer/drier, fridge/freezer, dining suite, 2 sofas, double bed etc etc.) I need to get rid of all the items and thought that a house clearance company would be the quickest way - but I'm not sure I'll get the best price?

Any suggestions / experience?

Thanks

House clearance company will offer peanuts I would think but will be quickest and easiest way

How about ebay auction as a bundle? Could be ideal for someone moving into flat or first home. You would just need someone to be available when winner collects stuff?

Alternatively offer the furnishings to the buyer of flat (although you have probably already done this?)

Hi Paul - hmm I did wonder if clearance co would give me peanuts. I'll give one a try and see what the quote is. You're right, I did offer the buyer the appliances and furniture but she has her own (she's a retired lady). Ebaying as a "house start up kit" is a good idea - worth a try!! :nice1 Cheers

There were certainly at least 2 'house kits' on ebay about a months ago. They seemed to go for a good price (I thought). Or what about an advert in the local paper, if someone could sort out being at the flat of course!

The house clearance peeps will give you peanuts, no doubt about that.

Good luck
