Hi all,
Thinking of buying the kid a PSP for Xmas here in the UK...
Are the games "region locked" or can it play games from NZ too ?
Thanks,
Doz

I don’t know about the new PStations but we took ours on holiday with us (Yes, very sad I know, but what can I say :D ) and the sound didn't work. I think it's to do with it not being compatible with the TV. We are taking ours, but will take over a TV for each of them. The TV we used in our camper van was quite old though and I know that most new TVs bought in the UK work in NZ, so it would be worth checking with the manufacturer. Not much help I'm afraid but best I can offer.
Oh, the games seemed quite expensive over there to so stock up!! :no

Thought I read somewhere on this forum that, whilst a UK PS2 will work in NZ, you can only play UK games on it. I think you can get it "chipped" but I don't think it's like a DVD where it's generally fairly simple to make them multiregional

If you buy from cdwow.com, they'll deliver free worldwide, so you can can the correct region (is it 2 for Europe) at the same price as here in the UK.

Hey ShakerMike :)
If you buy a PSP in the UK, the games you buy in NZ or anywhere else in the world will work fine on it as they are not region coded. Only the movies (UMDs) are region coded like DVDs.

And there's no problem re charging, I bought mine in LA on the way over and have no issues.
What a beautiful bit of kit....play Burnout in bed instead of reading, then check your email before going to sleep. :nice1
