Hi Guys
I have submitted my NZQA qualifications assessment forms and sent them off 3 weeks ago. The problem is I have lost the recorded delivery slip so can't check to see if it has arrived. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to assess your skills (I'm a teacher by the way).
I realise 3 weeks is a short time but would just like to know when I can expect to here something.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi,
The duration of the NZQA process also depends on the school where they need to check things. In our case it took 4 months! But that was because we sent our stuff off during Dutch school holidays... Not very smart :no
But hey, we got an answer in the end. :)
Patience is the name of the game I guess..

Hi guys!
we submitted to the NZQA at the beginning of May 05 & had a response back at the end of august 05. we had to wait for the examining bodies to confirm back to the NZQA and this is apparantly why it can take longer (or shorter in some cases!)
i guess as emma said it's a waiting game. i remember how frustrating the wait was for us & really feel for you! we have our fingers tightly crossed for you.
good luck & let us know how it's all going

Hi Jules and Russ,
We submitted our NZQA forms in June. If your stuff has arrived, they send you a confirmation with the name of your case officer. We are still waiting for our final assessment report. In our case, it seems that it has vanished somewhere before it had been posted!

Thanks for the responses guys.
4 months just to check your qualifications :wah . Karena I can't believe your still waiting since june thats nearly 5 months, I thought it would take a month at the most.
What is the case officer for? It's only an assessment of your skills.
Getting scared now, there is no way we will get PR by next August at this rate. :no
Oh well guess it's time to realise these things can't be rushed, just sit back and wait. :)

Don't worry,
As fas as I know, the case officer is just the person who checks your diploma's. Just as Emma mentioned, we also had our Dutch Summer Holidays and one or two schools didn't answer at first.
But there are a many stories of quick assessments. It can go as fast as 3 or 4 weeks.

Just wondering the same thing myself...
Sent mine in August, got the confirmation letter/ case officer assignment in September. Still waiting. I am a hairdresser, so really there isn't THAT much to check. When I saw the option to "Fast Track" the results I sort of sniffed, now I wish I had paid to have it done! Who knew fast tracking meant less than 3 months :)

I was told the fast track wouldn't be much quicker! :)

Hello everyone
Our NZQA assessment took about 4 weeks - it depends how quickly your awarding body takes to answer if there is a query. Just try and be patient - NZQA will contact you if there is a problem or no response from the awarding body within a certain time.
Good luck! :nice1

One other thing, I sent the documentation to the address outlined on the forms in New Zealand this was correct wasn't it?
I would have thought they would have an office in London for this sort of thing.
Anyway thanks for the replies guys. :)

ARGHHHH
Got my evaluation from NZQA back today, and it's NOT what I had hoped for. I was given a level 3 for hairdressers which equates to a student just barely out of school with no real world experience.
The levels go up to 5 I think, so I looked at what I needed for 4 and 5. It's stuff I do EVERYDAY such as "perform hair services in a commercial salon", OR "apply permanent haircolouring to a client".
This is why I am frustrated- I have been doing hair for almost 10 years now. I currently have a few hundred clients, over 1/2 of which get some sort of colour service. I own an upscale salon, and have for almost 5 years now, which makes this "skill" my favourite- "Design a floor plan as if you were to have your own salon". DUH.
I emailed my case worker, and Terry Murphy who is the US go to person in Oregon. I can have my skills re-evaluated for another $225, but I can't see the point. Why wouldn't they have at least given me some credit, and given me a level 4. Jeez.
Don't expect much... dissapointed in KC.
