Hi all,

Planning to make the move early next year as soon as the house goes on the market.

Seriously considering to employ www.newjobz.co.nz to get me a job etc.
That means going over on a work visa (Myself the missus and 2 kids).
I work as a techie in IT and I'm considering North Island (warmer!) and specifically the Bay of Plenty areas.

Has anyone used NewJobZ ? I know there are costs involved but it would cost me more trolling around NZ job hunting. Not really feasible with kids in tow!

NewJobZ and Keith Lightfoot seem a friendly bunch..

(I've searched the forum and ony found a reference to the "old forum" and the link doesn't work)

Regards,

Doz

My husband contacted them in the early stages of our emmigration last year. We got a pack off them, not sure if we paid or not, it was okay but we couldn't see how they could really help us. They made up a cv which was pretty useless and wanted to charge us a lot of money, around 3000 pounds I think :( and they also wanted to take a percentage of his salary for the first year.

In the end MH decided to go it alone and got his CV on seek. He ended up getting PR and then his job offer came through confirmed at whole two months after. He managed to get his job through the same company he worked for in the UK, wasn't easy as it wasn't an internal move. He had to go through two tough phone interviews before they decided on him.

As there's a shortage of IT people across NZ I don't think you'll have to many problems.

'around 3000 pounds I think'Crikey :exit Think of the things you could spend that on here.

How much do newjobz charge Dozzer? Being in IT (which branch?) I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble finding work, contracting or perme.:nice1

Hi Doz,

Try this link: http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=445&highlight=newjobz should work, and will give you lots of info about Newjobz as well as IT agencies in general.

Based on our experiences, you should be fine doing by yourself. There are plenty of IT agencies who are willing to help you, without paying the astronomical fees that Keith & co would charge you :(

Here are a few further links for you:

Good luck and let us know if you'd like any further info.
