Hi, I just joined the forum and appreciate any help from those who have trodden the path in filling up the EOI.
I have not worked in NZ before and have no offer of jobs. I have a Bachelor and Master degrees in IT. In this context, with regards to Section F - Questions 9 to 11 : In filling up this section on qualifications, do I answer 'YES' for my Bachelor & Master Degrees obtained in NUS & NTU even though I do not have current employment or offer of employment in NZ?
I am confused by the note "Only complete questions 9 to 11 if you are
claiming points for current skilled employment or an offer of skilled
employment". Is this current skilled employment restricted to NZ or is my current IT job in Singapore also recognised?
Appreciate any advice.

Hi
I believe that the "current skilled employment" in this case refers to your current job, wherever you are. The subsequent comment is merely directed at those that may have already been offered a NZ job.
It always pays to double check with the NZIS on these matters.

Hello Edmund
Welcome to the forum. :clap
I'll try to answer your question (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong).
Yes, you should fill in 9-11 with regards to your degree at present.
"Only complete questions 9 to 11 if you are claiming points for current skilled employment or an offer of skilled employment". Is this current skilled employment restricted to NZ or is my current IT job in Singapore also recognised?
You should only fill this in if you are in NZ on a work visa with a current job or if you are in Singapore with a job offer for NZ.
I hope this helps.

Hello Edmund, welcome to the forum.
Here is the information from the "Application for Residence Guide"
If you do not have current skilled employment, or an offer of skilled employment in New Zealand, you can only gain points for work experience if you can show that :
* your work experience meets the requirements for recognition set out in the explanation of relevant work experience.
* your work experience was gained in a comparable labour market.
Therefore, I would advise that you have a look at the critical skills shortage list and find out whether those requirements match your current IT work experience/skills.
Hope that this information helps.
:cheers

Thanks everyone for your replies. I should be able to complete the EOI based on the guide. I have another query relating to submitting EOI - Child Supplement which I have found in a PDF format. However, does this mean that I can't submit it online and have to post this form ? Have anyone done this before ?
Thanks once again for any advice.

Hi, found the answers to my query above. Found a thread explaining this and also verified that we have already filled the children information in the on-line EOI. The tricky part was that the online form did not include the sections of the hardcopy form that did not apply to my children.
Phew ....

Congratulations on your selection, time to sort out that paper train now. Don't panic, the EOI selection is the ONLY bit of this process that works quickly.
Now your on board the emigration ride try and enjoy the experience, it's got plenty of ups and downs and a thrilling finish.

:wah :wah :wah ... I thought I could cool down a bit for perhaps 1-2 months after my EOI was selected, but I received my ITA form yesterday ! Perhaps, we have a NZIS office in Singapore and they sure work fast ...

Hi, just to share my own experience. I did not have a job offer with the EOI application, but I put down my job experiences which garnered points.
