Hello, Can Anyone Please Give Me A Rough Idea Of Average Summer And Winter Temps In The Wellington Area? Is It Normal To Get Snow Here Or Not? Also How Many Days Rain Compared To Uk?
Thanks

Hello from Wellington

Have lived here for around 10 years and the temperatures (which vary from suburb to suburb) for Winter around 8 - 16 degrees
for summer around 16 - 24 degrees

We live in Pauatahanui and we have had around 2 light frosts this winter. Suburbs north of the city Whitby, Pauatahanui, Pukerua Bay and Plimmerton have in general much nicer weather than the middle of the city probably around 3 -4 degrees warmer and less wind and cold southerlies. I would not live in the middle of the city for that reason - and the suburbs above are all easy 20- 30 minutes to CBD by car.

In general it is pretty mild and does not experience the extremes that you get say in Canterbury.

Rainfall we get an average amount and not as much as Auckland which can have 4 weather extremes, hot, cold, windy wet all in one day!

Hope this info helps - happy to answer any other questions about living in Wellington

PS It is not normal to snow in Wellington it would happen about once in 6 years and would be so light it would melt within a few hours
