Hi Cardy - welcome to the forum.
Wanganui isn't a bad place at all, not a million miles from Palmerston North where we're based. My mother in law plays bowls there ......... so that's exciting info for you eh !!!
Don't know anything about schools etc but I do know that the housing is reasonably priced.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Diny
p.s. Good shopping in Wanganui too.

Well I have been there, but only for a day, so I'm not much help either! Pretty town centre though, and the folks I met seemed nice.
Actually I do have a Kiwi friend here that grew up in Wanganui so if no one knows, I can always ask her for you :)

Thanks Diny And Voice
I,m still getting used to this posting messages so i hope i,ve got it right.
I was talking to the guys i,ll be working for in Wanganui last night and they were so friendly and helpful i couldnt believe it. It sounds like a real nice community and they have invited me to visit before the big move with the family. As i,m in New Zealand 3rd to 15th december anyway i,m going to take them up on it. My 14 year old son is overjoyed they have a soccer league and thats him happy already. I,ll keep you posted how it goes , thanks Paul,Bev and the kids
:cheers

My cousin and her 5 kids live there - she is a midwife. They are out in the sticks but the town is lovely. Very small mid-west america type.

Hooray for the Warehouse, where would we be without it! It's our first stop for anything we want to buy and we are not usually let down. Love Trudy

We spent the day there and had a lovely lunch in a quaint little pub. It was recommended as I was trying to find somewhere that may cook a roast dinner :laugh No such luck though!! :no
It is a lovely town from what we saw of it!
