I know nothing like planning ahead but hey it's 3AM and I can't sleep as I'm full of cold :no
Yeh right then my question. Lesley (OH) has seen the future and the future is all black. Yeh we intend to head back in about two years and would love to build our own spot. Could any one please tell me some 'less expensive' areas that are nice where we could build our own little dream. We have talked about the Welli and Nelson areas and plan a visit easter 07 but I guess they are not the cheepest areas.
Anyway like I said the dream is back on and any input would be good. :cheers David

What sort of lifestyle do you want? What weather? Near city/town or in the middle of nowhere? Want a view? Mountains? Sea? Schools? Pizza delivery?

It'll help us get a better idea of what you want, and therefore the better places for you.

Hi Moorf,
We are looking for something no further than an hours drive of city. Weather, well I guess any improvement on the UK would be a good start. A view of sea/mountins/ really any kind of view. We are out side people who love the country side and would love a small life style block but like most will have limited funds. Is it possible? Oh yeah and if you want to deliver a pizza then we will provide the beer!

can't help with any info but just wanted to say :raebanana to the dream being back on.
It takes a lot of courage to try at all and the fact that you and your OH have given yourself the oppertunity to step back, reflect and the courage to go again I think,hats off to you both.
When you go again you will be all the stronger for your experiences.
P.S I'm also looking for a nice plot Welli way, close to the beach for sailing, windsurfing & walking, and good school. So thanks for posting this thread. We just have to sell the house here and get a job there. But we are following our dream.

You sound like great candidates for the Kapiti Coast!

20-40 mins from Wellington, great lifestyle blocks, sea and sunset views. Towns like Waikanae and Raumati might suit well. Prices are still cheap, but this land is being sold fairly quickly.
