Received my teacher registration this morning! :raebanana
Now I can spent the weekend getting it all in order and send all my paperwork off on Monday.
Anyone any idea roughly, the interview will take? and the how long til PR?

My sig shows my timeline. IIRC it's about 9 weeks from handing in the ITA to NZIS House in London to getting the interview.
*edit* - 8 1/2 weeks :p
Our interviewer emailed me Thursday lunchtime to arrange a time. I suggested the Friday morning which she was fine with. During the interview I explained that I would like to get a fast turnaround as I had to keep my passport with me rather than sending it off for a couple of weeks. She rang me on Monday morning to let me know we had PR, and we got our Passports stamped on Tuesaday - so it can be pretty quick once the interview is in place - it's the waiting after the ITA has gone in which is the problem!

HI Nicola,
I am about to apply for teacher registration. How long did it take you to get it ? And by the way - how long have you been teaching ? Are you Primary/ SEcondary ? Sorry about all these questions !

Ours took 10 weeks and was then only hurried through with a job offer. it was over July/August and September though, holiday time. :wah
Good luck. Isn't it a good feeling when you can get things moving?

Hi
My girlfriend just sent off her registration to NZQA they have just sent us a letter confirming our case officer (took 3-4 weeks). She is a english and Drama secondary school teacher and this is her first year teaching (NQT). I will update on the results and amount of time it takes to get the decision.

I think I was very lucky. The whole thing took about 5 weeks including them writing to ask me to send in my police check. (Hadn't had it when I sent in the application)
I am in my 6th year teaching and I am a secondary ICT teacher.

Nicola, did you send in a NZQA assessment with you registration application ? I am still waiting for mine (started the thing in August) - could I still send for teacher registration without it ? Tracey

Sorry only just seen this! :D
I'm not sure if you can or not. They won't issue registration without it though. I sent all mine off without the police check and they wrote to say they would sit on my application until they had received it. The assessment take ages though doesn't it :wah
