Does anyone know of a cheap cordial drink mix readily available from NZ supermarkets? The only ones we are able to find are really epensive (like $5 for 750ml) and loaded with sugar to boot. We consume a lot of 'soft' drinks in our household, and at the moment are just buying 3 0r 4 large bottles of fruit juice in various guises when on offer (up to $4 for 3 litres). This however gets 'rinsed' (our boys' saying-of-the-moment, rinsed = consumed in a rapid greedy manner)
In the UK we would buy a 3 litre bottle of Robinsons or Princes cordial for £1 - £1.60 odd, which when diluted down would last at least a week.
Cheers,
John.

Hi guys
You can buy a soft drink called Thriftee for $2.99 in pak n save. Its says no added sugar and comes in 540ml bottles. It is VERY VERY concentrated, to make one glass of juice you only need a VERY tiny amount. The bottle says is make over 20 litres when diluted.

what most of the kiwis drink is the powdered stuff that you make up out of the sachets. They are in all the supermarket and have some that are colour free havent noticed that there are any sugar free ones but with your boys I wouldn't think that was an issue.

Thanks,
yes we bought some own-brand low cal sachets last night in Countdown on Montreal St. - they were actaully lower-cal and slightly cheaper that the weightwatchers ones I think.
Cheers,
John
