Hi,
I have just been offered a job in NZ and I am hastily trying to do my sums to work out how much everything is going to cost me. I would just like to give a huge thank you for the person/persons responsible for the calculator on this site (http://www.emigratenz.org/cost-of-living-in-new-zealand.HTML) as I have used this for most of my calculations.
As it will just be lil' old me, (I have no spouse or kiddies yet), the figures based on a family of four are rather higher than I would expect so I have tried to make some revised household costs. I would like to hear whether these guesses are reasonable in your experiences.
I am also very interested in knowing if there are any significant expenses that might be missing or wrong - including initial costs of starting up in NZ and any kind of rates, charges or insurances that I would need to account for. I shall hopefully begin by renting a property in the centre of Wellington.
