I went down to NZ house yesterday to do a course and I spoke to a very nice lady there and she mentioned that in the next few weeks the points you need to apply(currently 100) are going to be raised.She did not know what they are going up to.Anybody thinking of putting their EOI should do so soon :nice1

Hi, I had heard this but I didn't realise it was so soon.

OK question on behalf of a dear friend. When I told her about the points going up last week she sent off her OH's qualifications to be assessed straight away. She has paid to fast track them, but as we all know this is no guarantee.

Can she submit her EOI while waiting to hear from the NZQA. At least this way she can pulled from the pool and will then be "safely selected". :confused:

Most definately.

that's what we did.

We submitted our ITA with an electronic assessment of Keith's qualifications, that's how we got our Approval in Principle.

That is really scarey. At the moment we can't submit an EOI as we are just under 100 points. If they raise the points too much then we definitely will not be able to go to NZ despite my hubby being a Gas Fitter/Heating Engineer which is apparently much in demand.

It's from the NZQA website, you can send it to them by e-mail, to which they respond very quickly with what they anticipate it to equate to. This is what we sent with our ITA.

Looks like they are trying to get more people on the WTR route, there will probably be a way around it, just look into alternatives to PR.
