Yes we did make it to NZ! the flight was great! The ride in New Zealand has been a very long (literally!) and bumpy! Firstly many many thanks to Diny, who was a star and met us at PN airport It was really appreciated and I just welcomed that motel! :nice1 We flew Malaysia airlines and although there were not up there with Singapore Airlines for being child friendly I can't recommend the flight times enough! So we had a house we were supposed to buy! The asking price had gone up $30k when we got here! :roll Then the farmer who was selling the land wouldn't give us a registered easement for the water! so we walked The rental we was in was diabolical! The final straw came when we found mice droppings in the kitchen cupboards and the worktops were covered in red ants! We did have a couple of visiting posums too but they were no trouble and did stay outside! (Not for the want of trying though!) Dannevirke was ok but (sorry Jo!) it just wasn't for us. Phil wasn't really happy in his job and we couldn't find what we were looking for there. So after a week of shall we, sharnt we, stay here? we decided to move, we figured it was best to get it right at the beginning or we just wouldn't be settled! My new motto is now consider, decide, do! Anyways Phil had to work his notice which left me with the packing and moving again and 2 of the 4 kids as the other 2 had gone to school as that was quite early on when we thought we was buying the house! Kids just loved school by the way! They are so much more confident since we got here it is unreal! So very sorry Kim and Elaine that we missed you and sorry too Diny that I didn't get chance to call/see you before we left but it was abit chaotic to say the least! So we got the ferry and toured the South Island, and (not knocking the North Island as there is some beautiful scenery up there and I have to say the people in Dannevirke are the friendliest I have come across in New Zealand!) This place feels right for us! At the moment we are in Geraldine in a very nice rental (only 2 beds but hey the last place we all kipped in the living room!) we have gone conditional on a 4/5 bed house, 3 acres, 10 mins from Waimate (Children of the Corn town? Nah it's not that bad!) and that is all going through fine.Phil has just heard he has got a driving job he applied for and can start Feb 7th to give us time to move into the house! He will be in a Scania too Kim on the North & South Island! Now all our stuff is still in storage in Welly :no  but Phil's boss has said he can use the lorry if we want!:nice1
So much to say and so little time! Sorry its brief but I will try and post more as and when and Diny & Jo B I will PM you very soon!
Michelle (It's good to be back!)

Michelle, it is lovely to hear from you. It sounds like you've been very proactive and done the sensible thing and moved on when you weren't happy. Makes sense. I love the South Island (I was born in Chch) - my uncle lived in Waimate for years. It is a beautiful area of the world.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas and Phil enjoys his new job. Keep us updated and I'd love to see pics.

Michelle how wonderful to read your update! Like many others I too had wondered how you were getting on. Sounds like it's been quite a ride for you, but your endless energy and positive attitude shines through in your post. I admire your guys tremendously to go for it with 4 young children!! Look forward to reading more about your experiences. Hope you manage to spend Christmas in your new home, very best wishes for 2006!!

Hugs
