Quick question. How many laptops can you bring into the country? I was planning on bringing one for personal use then one to sell to a friend. Will they all allow it and will they charge me some sort of import tax or anything?

Hi Gratto,

We bought a laptop over with us - only one though but it wasn't even mentioned during the trip by anyone. We flew Air NZ and they allow you one piece of hand luggage, plus a briefcase/laptop EACH, and there was no mention of any import taxes or anything - I'm sure you'll be OK with 2. Otherwise, if you're coming out with family, just get one of them to carry the 2nd one!
