Hi all, we have finally got our pr :raebanana , it came through the post just before christmas. Was really surprised, as we didnt have an interview or anything. Really quick as well, we sent our ITA in November, and forwarded police reports begining of December. John to be in NZ in February to start job, and i will be following with kids as soon as house is sold, unless we get a buyer quick then we can all go together! got a first time buyer coming to view this Sunday so keep your fingers crossed for us.

What is the best way to find a rental? We will be living in the Palmerston North area as that is where John's new job will be, but from looking on the real estate agents web sites, there seems very little to rent in Palmy, and getting a little worried now that we will struggle to find something to rent when we arrive :uhoh

If anybody knows of a good way of finding rentals let me know.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL, LETS HOPE ITS A GOOD ONE

Helen, John and Kids, soon to be Kiwis

Thats brilliant news Helen and family. Everything crossed so that you can fly out together.

Have you tried contacting the agents direct so they know you are coming? And old faithful Trademe too? I'm sure you'll find something when you get here though.

congratulations!

i look forward to hearing how you get on when you all arrive! Good luck with house viewing. As for rentals, try doing a search on Harcourts in Palmerston North, they are usually a good source of rentals and will send you regular bulletins of what's available.

Hi Helen and John,

You are right that rental properties are few in Palmerston North. It took us about 2 weeks before we got a decent one. You need to get a listings (which is published daily) of all rental properties from the rental agencies and the majority of them are located on Broadway Ave. Once you have obtained the list, you need to view the exterior of the property on your own and if you like any and the area of the house, there will be a open home for all interested parties on a designated date and time. I suggest that you get a rental car during that time so that viewing can be made much easier.

Which area are you looking at? The Hoowhitu area, near Massey are the most expensive. Do PM me if you need more info.
