Hi,

We are planning on moving sometime next year but my 6 year old son would have missed half a year of school there. We are keeping our fingers crossed :hopeso that it is next year!

Does anyone know of any New Zeland home schooling or have any experience with NZ home schooling? We woudl like to know where we can find information about it and how we might go about enrolling in it.

Thanks,

veronica

They do have home schooling here, I don't know many details but I have heard of people doing it, sometimes its geography that is the reason but sometimes its choice. We homeschooled our kids in the UK when they were small (up to age 11) so we always take an interest in it.

Hi Veronica,

Is the British home schooling recognised by New Zealand?

The reason for us wanting to start off with home schooling is not so much because of the remoteness of where we might end up in NZ but more so that our son does not fall behind in the NZ schooling system eventually when he starts schooling there.

Do you have a website for the British home schooling site?

Thanks,

There isn't so much a British homeschooling thing. there is just a suport group of home schooling families called Education Otherwise. usually shortened to E.O. I haven't checked the web for them as our kids are grown up now but if you do a web search it is bound to turn something up. Might be interesting to do a web search in NZ too.
