wow, guy's there must be LOADS of us going over the new year. I have just surfed for flights ,and there are very few over that New Year period. ( Actually checking that i haven't paid over the odds when i booked in August ,cause i am a tight fisted moo- oh ,and i haven't)
I even thought of checking from Manchester, but the only one that came up for the end of the year ,actually flew from MAN to LHR then on.
I guess there be no chance of getting off those few extra kilo's.
Happy flying Chips

I have just had a look on last minute.com and there are lots of flights listed for first week in Jan (very cheap also)
I am hoping to go from Manchester with Singapore airlines early November (depending when work visa arrives)

Hi,
Just booked with singapore airlines for 31 dec fare seems reasonable and not subject to change without refunds ( I coul not believe that when I read it on expedia)
So there are some flights out there.
Not brave enough to use last minute in case i don't get one - abit sad but well :angel
Love linda xx

I'd be interested to know if any of you are still looking for flights over for the first two weeks in November.
We booked our flights in at the beginning of August for £380 each.
It was with Cathay via Hong Kong.
How are prices comparing now for about the same time?
At the time we were also looking to go via LAX within a 2 week period the same flight went from £420 to £550, which is why we went with Cathay, even though we are Air NZ frequent flyers.

price i was looking at was £422 one way from Manchester to Auckland via Singapore with Singapore Airlines.
there was one flight that was cheaper with Emirates, Manchester to Dubai then to Brisbane then to Auckland

Ouch that's a long flight steve.
Didn't fancy a stay in Bris Vegas then??
There's some great stuff to see round there.
If you are anything like us though, we decided to go straight to NZ
We love seeing places, and didn't want to waste the flight, by not stopping off.
In the end though we came to the conclusion that we wouldn't get much out of stopping off, as we would be too excited about getting to NZ to enjoy it.

the flight with Singapore Airlines looks like the one we will take, should have enough time with a 6-10 hour stopover in singapore to do a bit of gadget shopping :nice1
