I'm confused (as usual) and wonder if someone whose already applied for PR could answer this. According to the NZIS website it costs $300 to submit and EOI and $800 for a 'residence permit'.

If I submit an EOI for our family do we just pay a one off cost of $300 for the application regardless of how many people on it. I assume that the $800 is an additional cost for the permit (or visa if you are travelling from overseas to NZ) PER PERSON. ie. if approved, we would then pay $3,200 for four residence permits.

Is that right?

If so, wow, that's a lot isn't it!!!! Total cost including EOI is $3,500 - that's £1400 at current exchange rate.

Are there any other hidden costs (not including medicals, police certs), ie. in terms of costs directly from NZIS that i'm not aware of?

Thanks!

Hi Hannah.

No, its not per person - its per application.

Hope that makes your purse strings feel better !!

At least it is if you are applying from within the UK, so presumably from within NZ will be the same.

We had to pay migrant levy of 120£ per applicant when NZIS issued Residency Visas to our passports.
I don't know though if UK residents are free of migrant levy.

UK residents have to pay as well. GBP 120 each.

Hannah apart from medicals etc, we had to pay GBP 500 odd (540 I'm sure) when we applied from the UK.

Julie is right, its per application not per person.
